Most food is produced
in the temperate Northern hemisphere, with the US by far the largest total and
surplus food producer. Russia and Australia produce food
surpluses.
S.America and Europe have very small food
surpluses.
Any compromise to US and Russian food production would result in rising world food prices and if sustained would be disastous to world foiod security.
Global warming is exacerbating political instability as tensions brought on by food insecurity rise. With research suggesting the issue can only get worse we examine the risks around the world.
